I would say that not money can only help motivate employees. There are lots of different ways to motivate employees like a simple acknowledgement. Saying to an employee “good job” or “you’re doing great” is also a great way to motivate employees. This way employees would work even harder and won’t think that all the hard work that he/she has done to the company don’t come to waste. Simple things can also help motivate employees. Like in our company even though the management constantly monitors employees on how employees use the computer at work using this tool ( http://www.timedoctor.com/blog/2011/04/14/compare-screen-monitoring-software ). It does not block social media and all unrelated to work websites. These way employees can get motivated and inspire while working that also boost employee’s productivity.

@Dan:
Per the intro and previous comments, the tips aren't in any particular order- they are all relevant ideas. However, I do know the gentlemen who submitted the first tip and for him and many of his colleagues, $ for sure is a top motivator.

That being said, I do believe that different people are motivated differently and that is why there is a comprehensive list so that employers can choose strategies that fit with their employees and their culture.

Thanks for adding.
