I’ll bet you’re thinking this is going to be a post about organizing your office or some sort of spring cleaning. Actually, we are going even deeper than that – to the stuff below the surface that can be a ball and chain, holding you back from moving forward.

We all experience negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. That’s a given. However, sometimes you might experience truly toxic situations at work with a colleague, or a breakup with a co-founder, that leave you angry, raw, betrayed, invalidated, confused, or maybe a combination of all of these.

It’s hard to see possibility and evaluate options objectively when you are experiencing these feelings. You might view any new situation with suspicion, assuming the worst. Your previous experience may cloud your judgment. You might miss out on a great opportunity.

So, if you have been through a rough patch with someone or some situation (professional or personal), you need to get that energy out of your system ASAP. I recommend a process that to date has worked for everyone who has tried it.

Below is a message from a client who needed to clear out invalidation from a former boss quickly because they had an interview with someone who seemed on the outside to be like their old boss, and they knew they were projecting all sorts of things onto that person and the potential new work situation.

From my inbox:

Hi Catherine,

Thank you for your advice and encouragement by having the call with me today. I wrote my letter and I burned it…I hope I get lasting closure from that along with using the other tips you gave me. I actually felt better during our call, and after that letter activity I feel pretty good still now. You have a unique gift–you zoomed into my troubles and helped me release a heavy burden immediately and helped change my perspective.  I am amazed–and truly grateful–and I’ll work on incorporating the tips you gave me. I will touch base with you again soon and I’ll look you up on LinkedIn and request to connect. I will definitely refer people to you whenever possible!

Below is the process. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’d love to hear how it works for you.
