Yes, you are important – maybe even crucial – to the success of your business. Does that mean you can’t (or shouldn’t) take time off from your business? Absolutely not!

Carol Roth didn’t take vacations for a long time, but now she prioritizes time away with her husband above everything else.

If Carol can do it, you can too.

Our egos can love being needed, but our bodies and minds need to get away from time to time to relax and recharge.

And, we would do well to also spend time with friends and loved ones.

I promise that you will not be able to envision creative solutions for your business or serve your clients well if you are exhausted and completely stressed out.

Let me repeat: You are not too important to take time off.

Like your electronics, unplugging yourself and then restarting after some downtime will fix a lot of problems.

Burnout is a huge issue for entrepreneurs and small business owners. While some of you may have serious burnout and will need to get help and make changes, many of you may be able to stay ahead of it, or alleviate current symptoms, by proactively getting some space from your business and having some fun.

We all need time away from our business. It’s quite likely that you can set things up so you can take a real vacation. In this video, Carol shares what she does to ensure she doesn’t come back to complete chaos.
